Building Consultants, Ltd., (BCL) has considerable experience in the evaluation of the condition of existing structural members and design of repairs to distressed or deteriorated buildings or other structures. From structures affected by earthquakes, fires and overloads to facilities where maintenance has been postponed, BCL can assess the condition of structural members utilizing visual observation, nondestructive site tests and laboratory tests on specimens removed from inconspicuous locations.

Recent BCL structural engineering assignments include:

· Periodic monitoring of deflection using laser levels in a floor slab in suburban Chicago.
· Evaluation of structural damage due to the collapse of the roof of an industrial building in a Chicago suburb.
· Peer review of the design of a parking structure in Denver.
· Design of repairs to deck members and expansion joints on a 700-ft.-long bridge in Chicago.
· Evaluation, design, bidding and construction monitoring during repairs to balconies on a 14-story hotel in the eastern US.
